How to connect your Instagram account to Wati

This document explains how to go about connecting your Instagram account to Wati. Before you proceed make sure you have gone through the pre-requisites for connecting your account.

Before you go through these steps, make sure you have completed this Pre-requisite checklist before starting the connections process.

This feature is available in all the new plans of WATI
  1. Go to Profile > Channel Status > Instagram
  2. Click on Get Started. Go through the pre-requisites list and select Yes if you have completed them. You can expand each question to view details about how to set it up.
  3. Click on Connect Instagram to proceed into the Facebook login flow. Login to Facebook as an Admin user of your Facebook Page belonging to your business.
  4. Login to your Instagram account you want to connect to Wati
  5. Select the business portfolio which contains your Instagram account. Make sure you select only 1 portfolio and keep the "Opt in to current businesses only" setting checked
  6. Select the Facebook page which contains your Instagram account. Make sure you select only 1 page and keep the "Opt in to current pages only" setting checked
  7. Select the Instagram account you want to connect. Make sure you select only 1 account and keep the "Opt in to current Instagram accounts only" setting checked
Please note, if you select more than 1 Instagram account here, connection will not be completed and you will be prompted to select 1 account only to proceed.
  1. Review the permissions that Wati needs to connect to your Instagram account and click on Save.
  2. Is the account is connected, you will see a success message, click on Got It
  3. Your Instagram account is now connected to Wati. You can scan the QR code shown to send a test message to your business account and view the test message on Team Inbox.
