Whatsapp Flows

With Whatsapp Flows feature, you will have the ability to create simple input-based forms which can be used for different use cases like lead generation, surveys, review collection etc

An example of a Customer Service, Feedback use case using Whatsapp Flow can be seen below.

Where when the “Contact Us” button is clicked in message below, a form gets opened in WhatsApp itself where users can enter the asked info and submit.

As shown in the example above now all Wati Pro & Business plan customers would be able to create such input-based forms customized according to their needs using a drag and builder made available in Wati platform

How to create a Whatsapp Flow in Wati platform

To use WhatsApp Flows you'd need to get a verified business portfolio, approved display name, and high-quality ratings. This is a requirement from Meta.

1. Click the section named “Whatsapp Flows” now available in the Automation area as shown below

2. Next click the continue button in the intro screen and once done will be directed to the page as shown below, where two predefined templates “Lead Generation” & “Feedback Form” are provided, can edit the template and create a new flow or duplicate the template to create a new flow.

3. Select any of the template to create a new flow, once selected will get directed to a drag & drop builder page as shown below where you can customize the form according to your requirements.

4. Once the form is edited and customized, can save the flow as a "Draft "or click on “Publish” button to create the new flow.

Note: Published flows cannot be edited, Flows saved as drafts can be edited later and published

5. Once the flow is published you can use the created flow in Chatbot conversation using the “Whatsapp Flow node” as shown below

6. To use the created Whatsapp flow in Chatbot, Once the Whatsapp flow node is selected you get the option to select the created flow from the drop down as well as setup the header, body and button text for the message.

Collecting data from WhatsApp Flow

For collecting the values entered by end users in Whatsapp flow form, Custom attributes are provided

Whenever a flow is created a Custom attribute with the name having flow name as prefix is created For eg: consider the name of the flow created is "Leadgen" then the custom attribute name will be "Leadgen_content" and this attribute will contain the entire data dump of values entered in the flow in Json format.

In addition to this each field in the Flow form will have a custom attribute which will contain the value entered in the field

The custom attributes can be viewed in the team inbox custom parameter area as well as in the Whatsapp flow node section in chatbot builder
