Introduction

If you're spending on CTWA ads but have no idea about how to track conversions and want to see how your ad funnel looks like - then please read on. Once you setup the right tracking for conversions, Wati will show an ads funnel similar to the one below for your ads account!

Step 1 - Connect your Facebook ads account

Head over to the Ads tab and click Connect to Facebook. You will need to select the Facebook page that you have access to as well as all relevant ad accounts.

Once you've connected successfully, you'll be able to proceed to step 2 to set up tracking of conversions! If you've managed to connect successfully - you'll see the following screen.

Step 2 - Set up tracking for your conversions

Once you've connected your Facebook ads account, you will be able to set up tracking for conversions.

For CTWA ads, you will be able to track leads and purchases as conversions.

Anyone who has started a conversation with you is already being tracked by Wati under the "Conversations Started" metric. You don't have to track these as leads. You should track leads deeper in the funnel.

If you'd prefer to watch a video to get set up, watch the video below and head on straight to Step 3.

To track Purchases

Is there a template you already send on chat when a customer makes a purchase from you? Something along the lines of "thankyou for your payment" or "your order is confirmed" ? Add this template under Track purchases. Whenever this template is sent in the conversation, Wati will check if this conversation was started from a CTWA ad and record it as a purchase conversion event.

Additionally, you can also tell Wati how you track purchase value - This will help you track Purchase ROAS.

To track Leads

Likewise - is there a template you send to contacts who show interest in your offering? To track qualified leads - pick a template that you send way into the conversation (not as a convo starter). For example - if you generally set up a chatbot to leads that come in from CTWA - is there a node deep into the chatbot where you send a template asking someone to book an appointment or an appointment confirmation? This would be a great candidate to track qualified leads.

Once you've set this up - every time this template is sent in a CTWA conversation, Wati will record that contact as a qualified lead.

If you don't want to use templates to track but something else instead, please leave a feedback on the page or write to us at support@wati.io

Step 3 - Moment of truth! See cost per conversion metrics in Wati

Once your ads have seen some conversions - you can see the following metrics on Wati.

  1. Conversations started
  2. Cost per conversation started
  3. Qualified leads captured
  4. Cost per lead
  5. Purchases
  6. Cost per purchase

You will also be able to see other metrics from Facebook Ads manager such as - Ad spend, clicks, impressions, reach, ad id and ad url.

Step 4 - Bonus - 1 click remarketing on WhatsApp

If you see several leads showing a lot of interest in an ad - you can easily send them a WhatsApp broadcast with lucrative offers such as "Experience a free trial", "here's an additional 5% discount", etc. to increase chances of conversion from each of these leads. You can do that in just 1 - click - Click on the retarget button and pick Qualified leads or if you want your customers to purchase from you again - pick "those who purchased" to send them a personalised WhatsApp message.

One of the key benefits of CTWA ads is that conversations are free for 72 hours if you're able to respond to the customer in 24 hours! Make use of this benefit by using the retargeting capability - you may be able to get conversions at 0 remarketing costs!

Once you start tracking conversions on ads, check back to see your marketing funnel and overall cost metrics.
