Triggering KnowBot from a Chatbot flow

Introduction

In this article we will explore how a KnowBot can be connected to and triggered from a Chatbot flow. Please make sure you have created at least 1 KnowBot before proceeding with this guide. Details on how to create a KnowBot can be found here.

How to setup a KnowBot inside a Chatbot

For use cases where you would like to have a chatbot flow to allow users to take a guided path and then route the user to the appropriate agent or team, you can now route the user to chat with KnowBot also.

  1. Go to Automations > Chatbots > Create a new Chatbot or edit an existing Chatbot
  2. Select the "Assign user" operation from the left panel and add it to your Chatbot flow at the appropriate point as required
  3. Click on Edit on the Assign user node and open the dropdown to view the available users
  4. Here you will find the KnowBot created by you. Select the KnowBot and click on Save
  5. Once all other changes required for the Chatbot flow are done, click on Save

With this setup, whenever your customer goes through your Chatbot flow, it will assign the chat to KnowBot at the appointed section of the flow which will then begin to chat with the customer.
