Summary

Want to automatically send WhatsApp template messages when data in Google Sheets changes? Using Wati and Zapier integration, you can create an automated workflow that triggers a WhatsApp template message when a relevant row or column is added or updated in Google Sheets.

A template message can be triggered when:

  • A column in an existing row is updated.

  • A new row is added by submitting a form.

This guide explains how to connect Google Sheets with Wati using Zapier and configure the workflow to send WhatsApp template messages automatically.

Examples of Google Sheets triggers

You can use the Google Sheets and Wati integration for different workflows.

Send a message when an existing row is updated

If a customer record already exists in Google Sheets and a relevant column is updated, the Zap can trigger a WhatsApp template message.

Send a message when new rows are imported

When new rows are imported into the connected Google Sheet, the Zap can trigger the configured WhatsApp template message.

Send a message when a form adds a new row

If a form submission creates a new row in the connected Google Sheet, the Zap can trigger a WhatsApp template message.

Pro Tip

You can create multiple Zaps for different workflows. For example, you can:

  • Send a WhatsApp message when a new lead is added.

  • Send an update when information in an existing row changes.

  • Send a confirmation when a form submission creates a new row.

By connecting Google Sheets with Wati through Zapier, you can automatically send WhatsApp template messages based on changes to your spreadsheet instead of sending each message manually.
