Summary
Wati has introduced a redesigned filter and navigation experience to help you find conversations faster, switch between channels easily, and manage multiple WhatsApp numbers in one place. This article explains all the new improvements and how to use them effectively.
These new features are being released in phases, so if you don’t see them yet, no worries - the update will reach your account soon.
Instructions
The latest update focuses on simplifying how you organize and explore conversations. Below are the key enhancements and how they improve your daily workflow.
New filter sidebar
All your filters now live in a handy left sidebar, making it much easier to scan through options and pick what you need without digging around.
You can pin any collapsed filter so it always stays visible alongside your frequently used filters.
Channels and Segment 1 filters now show markers instead of exact counts.
Unread conversations are now shown only at the channel level using a simple counter. Other filters won’t display unread counts.
You can also combine Segment 1 filters (like Active or Assigned to me) with Segment 2 filters (like Open or Unread). For example, selecting Assigned to me and then Open will show only the conversations that match both conditions.
When you select a filter, its details appear above the conversation list for quick reference.
Your inbox will remember the last filter you selected, even if you navigate away and return later.
Favorite filters and custom filters are saved per agent in this phase.
Channel sidebar navigation
Channels are now displayed vertically, giving you a cleaner layout and making it easier to switch between them without breaking your flow.
Advanced custom filters
Advanced custom filters give you more control over how you find conversations. You can mix and match different conditions, group them together, and build flexible rules that match exactly what you’re looking for.
Available conditions
You can create filters using any of the following:
Contact Attribute
Assignee
Team
Tag
Status
Source
You also have options to organize and reuse your filters:
You can name and save your custom filters.
You can save multiple filters for different needs.
You can delete any saved filters at any time.
Logic rules
Custom filters use simple logic rules to define how conditions work together:
Within a group: all conditions use AND, meaning every condition in the group must match.
Between groups: groups use OR, meaning conversations that match any group will appear.
You can add as many conditions as you need inside a group.
You can also create multiple groups for more flexibility.
Example
Group 1:
(Assignee = Me AND Status = Open)
Group 2:
(Tag = VIP AND Source = API)
Final logic:
(Assignee = Me AND Status = Open) OR (Tag = VIP AND Source = API)
This means a conversation will appear if it matches either Group 1 or Group 2.
Multi-WhatsApp account view
If you manage multiple WhatsApp numbers, you can now view conversations from all of them together. This makes cross-account management much faster and easier.
WhatsApp account selection:
When you choose the WhatsApp channel, you’ll see all your connected WhatsApp accounts in a simple dropdown.
You can select more than one account at a time, making it easy to work across multiple numbers.
After you make your selections, the dropdown will show how many accounts you’ve chosen.
If you hover over the count, you’ll see a detailed list of the selected accounts.
The counter always reflects the total number of accounts you currently have selected.
Mobile support
All filter improvements are also available on the Wati mobile app, giving you a consistent experience no matter where you’re working from.
