Configuring language localization for the permission request
Step 1: Enable calling (if not already enabled)
Log in to your Wati account.
Click your profile picture in the top-right corner.
Go to Settings > Team Inbox Settings.
Switch to Call and select the phone number where you want to enable calling (if you have multiple numbers).
Turn on Enable WhatsApp Call to activate WhatsApp Business Calling.
Step 2: Select the language for the permission request template
Use the language dropdown to choose the preferred language for the permission request template. You can update this selection at any time.
After selecting the language, click Save to apply your changes.
The permission request template is automatically generated in the selected language. You can also set a different preferred language for each WhatsApp Business line.
Using auto-generated templates for campaigns
Each time you select a language and save the settings, Wati automatically creates a permission request template using the format
whatsapp_call_permission_request_{language_acronym}.For example,
whatsapp_call_permission_request_hiis created for Hindi.
If you change the language later, any previously generated language-specific templates remain available and can still be used in campaigns.
The most recently selected language is used by default for permission requests sent from the Team Inbox.
Step 1: Select the template and publish a campaign
Log in to your Wati account.
Go to Campaigns from the left navigation bar (or the top bar, if configured).
Click Create New Campaign or New Campaign.
Make sure the correct WhatsApp Business channel is selected so the language-specific permission request templates are available.
Search for the permission request template using the keyword
whatsapp_call_permission_request_, then choose the required template from the dropdown.
Apply contact filters if needed, and publish the campaign.
