Summary
Want to manage your Wati workspace just by chatting with AI? This guide walks you through how to connect your Wati workspace to Claude or ChatGPT using the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Once connected, you can manage your contacts, conversations, campaigns, templates, and other Wati resources using natural language. If you use Astra, you can also create, manage, and improve your AI agents from the same conversation. No dashboard hopping. No code. Setup takes about 5 minutes.
Note: The Wati MCP server is available to customers on Wati's Growth, Pro, and Business plans. If you're currently using a trial account, you can also enable and use the Wati MCP server during your trial period.
What you can do after setup
Once everything is connected, your AI assistant becomes a single interface for managing your Wati workspace.
Manage your Wati workspace
You can:
Search and manage contacts, conversations, and leads
Review customer conversations and engagement history
Manage campaigns, message templates, and other supported Wati resources
Analyze workspace activity and conversation trends
Create customer segments, prioritize leads, and identify follow-up opportunities
Manage Astra AI agents
If you're using Astra, you can also:
Build, test, deploy, and improve AI agents using natural language
Update agent instructions, tone, enabled tools, and escalation rules
Evaluate agent responses and validate changes before publishing
Automate your workflows
You can also connect Wati and Astra with tools such as Shopify, HubSpot, Slack, Notion, and more to automate end-to-end workflows.
You can do all of this without leaving the Claude or ChatGPT window you already use every day. Instead of switching between multiple dashboards, you can manage your Wati workspace - and your Astra AI agents, if you use them - from a single conversation.
