If you previously created AI Support Agents (formerly known as KnowBot) in Wati, you can migrate them to Astra during agent creation. Before migrating your AI Support Agents to Astra, you must connect your Wati account to Astra.
Prerequisite
Connect your Wati account to Astra
Follow these steps to connect Wati and Astra:
Log in to your Astra account.
Open the Action Library.
Select any Wati action, such as Create Contact or Update Contact
Start a workflow that requires a Wati connection.
When prompted, you can click Connect via Wati or click Setup manually.
If you choose Connect via Wati, sign in using your Wati account credentials in the next step. When prompted, make sure to enter the correct Client ID for the Wati account you want to connect.
For manual setup - enter your Wati Access Token and API Endpoint.
Save the connection.
Find your Wati Access Token and API Endpoint
To locate your Wati credentials:
Log in to your Wati account.
Navigate to Connectors > API > API Docs.
Copy the Access Token and API Endpoint.
Use these values when connecting Wati to Astra.
Migrate AI Support Agents to Astra
Once your Wati account is connected, you can migrate your AI Support Agents.
In Astra, navigate to Agents.
Click + New agent.
Select WhatsApp as the channel.
Enter your business website URL.
Click Migrate from Wati AI Agent.
Select the AI Support Agents you want to import.
Click Create my agent.
Astra will create a new agent and import the selected AI Support Agents from your Wati account.
What gets migrated?
After the migration is complete:
Your imported AI Support Agents will appear under the Knowbot section in Knowledge Source Settings.
Existing training resources from your AI Support Agents will be available under the Website and Documents knowledge source sections.
This allows you to continue using your existing knowledge base without manually re-uploading resources.
