Wati now supports automatic segment synchronization with Shopify. With segment sync enabled, you get:

  • Automatic syncing of Shopify customer segments

  • Real-time updates when customers enter or leave a segment

  • A dedicated segment listing page inside Wati

  • Direct campaign launch from any synced segment

Instead of exporting lists or recreating filters, you can use your existing Shopify segments directly inside Wati.

What does Shopify segment sync do?

It synchronizes Shopify customer segments into Wati and keeps them updated automatically. Segments are synced when:

  • A segment is created

  • A segment is updated

  • A segment is deleted

  • A customer joins a segment

  • A customer leaves a segment

This ensures Wati always reflects the latest segment membership without manual refresh.

How to enable Shopify segment sync

Follow these steps:

  • Go to Connectors → Integrations in Wati.

  • Open your Shopify integration settings.

  • Select Segment sync from the left menu.

  • Click Get started with segments.

  • Once enabled, all your Shopify segments will appear on this screen.

  • When you open any segment, you’ll see a Send campaign CTA that allows you to launch a broadcast directly to that segment.

Once enabled:

  • All existing Shopify segments are synced to Wati.

  • Newly created segments appear automatically.

  • Segment membership updates in real time.

Important notes

  • Segment editing must be done in Shopify.

  • Segment sync requires customer profile sync to be enabled.

  • Large segment imports may take a few minutes to appear during the initial sync.

Viewing synced segments in Wati

All synced segments are available on a dedicated segment listing page. For each segment, you can see:

  • Segment name

  • Creation date

  • Total number of customers

Segment list capabilities

The segment page supports:

  • Search by segment name

  • Sorting by creation date

This makes it easier to locate and manage large numbers of segments.

Exploring segment details

Click any segment to:

  • View all customers within the segment

  • See synced attributes such as phone number, email, consent status, and tag attributes

  • Review the audience before launching a campaign

Sending campaigns to segments

Each segment includes a Send campaign call-to-action (CTA). When you click it:

  • The broadcast creation page opens.

  • Segment contacts are pre-selected.

  • You can proceed with campaign setup and delivery.

This allows you to move from segmentation to campaign launch in just a few clicks.

How segment updates are handled

Segment membership updates automatically using Shopify events. When customers are added to or removed from a segment in Shopify, the changes are reflected in Wati without manual intervention.
