The referral program rewards long-term customer growth by offering in-product credits to eligible referrers and subscription discounts to eligible referees.
To better understand how the referral program works, let's look at some key terms:
1. Referrer
A referrer is an eligible existing Wati customer who participates in the referral program and shares a referral link with potential new customers.
2. Referee
A referee is a new customer who signs up for Wati using a referral link shared by a referrer.
3. Referral link
A referral link is a unique link generated for eligible Wati customers participating in the referral program. The referral link can be accessed and shared from within the Wati product.
Who is eligible for the referral program?
The referral program is currently in beta and available only to select Wati customers.
To check whether your account is eligible, log in to Wati and look for the gift box icon in the bottom-right corner.
Referrer rewards (existing Wati customers)
If you are an eligible Wati customer participating in the referral program, you can earn in-product credits when a new customer signs up using your referral link and subscribes to an eligible paid plan.

India
Earn ₹1,500 in credits per month while the referral remains on a paid plan
Maximum reward of ₹4,500 per referral
Other countries
Earn $25 in credits per month while the referral remains on a paid plan
Maximum reward of $75 per referral
How rewards are issued
For monthly subscriptions:
₹1,500 / $25 when the referral subscribes to an eligible paid plan
₹1,500 / $25 after the second monthly renewal
₹1,500 / $25 after the third monthly renewal
A maximum reward cap of ₹4,500 / $75 applies per referral.
For annual subscriptions:
All three reward installments are issued together
Credits are issued approximately 5 days after the annual subscription purchase is processed
Important rules for referrers
Rewards are issued as in-product credits only
Credits cannot be transferred to another account
Credits cannot be converted to cash
Rewards stop if the referral cancels or no longer remains on a paid plan
There is no limit on the number of users a referrer can invite
Rewards apply only when the referral is a new Wati customer
If an existing or former Wati customer signs up using a referral link, no rewards are issued
Previously issued rewards may be clawed back if eligibility requirements are not met

Referee rewards (new customers)
A new customer may receive a discount when signing up for Wati using a valid referral link shared by an eligible Wati customer participating in the referral program.
A person who has not yet subscribed to Wati does not have a referral link. Referral links are available only to eligible Wati customers participating in the referral program.

For annual subscriptions, this is approximately equivalent to 10% off the total annual subscription price
The discount is applied automatically during checkout

Pay As You Go (PAYG) plans

No manual coupon code is required
The discount is automatically applied when the referral link is used
If the discount is removed during checkout, it cannot be manually re-added
The referral link must be clicked again to reapply the discount
The referee's email address must not have any previous paid invoices associated with a Wati account
The discount applies only to the subscription plan price
The discount does not apply to add-ons
