Ask
Ask is a Copilot capability that lets you query your Wati workspace using natural language.
You can ask questions about your inbox, contacts, campaigns, templates, and other Wati data. Ask uses your live account data to provide relevant answers without requiring you to manually search through different areas of Wati.
Where to find Ask
You can access Ask from the top navigation bar anywhere in the Wati app.
For example, you can open Ask while you're on:
Team Inbox
Campaigns
Contacts
Templates
Click Ask to open the panel.
What can you do with Ask?
You can use Ask to query different areas of your Wati workspace.
Area | What you can do | Example prompt |
Inbox activity | View inbox activity, contact counts, and opt-in status | "Show me today's inbox activity." |
Recent conversations | View the latest customer conversations | "Who messaged me recently?" |
Contact details | View a contact's profile and conversation history | "Show me everything about this contact." |
Daily digest | Get a summary of the day's activity | "Give me a digest of today." |
Weekly insights | Review activity trends throughout the week | "What was the busiest day this week?" |
Campaigns | Check campaign performance and delivery statistics | "How did my last campaign do?" |
Templates | View your approved message templates | "What templates do I have?" |
Help documentation | Search Wati help articles | "How do I block a contact?" |
Depending on your request, Ask may display results as:
Contact cards
Conversation summaries
Charts and analytics
Performance insights
Help articles
Agents
Agents are a separate Copilot capability designed for background automation. They scan your workspace for specific conditions and surface relevant contacts or conversations for you to review.
Unlike Ask, which answers questions, Agents identify specific situations and can suggest actions based on what they find.
Important: Agents do not apply actions automatically. You must review and approve a suggested action before it is applied.
Available Agents
Agent | What it looks for | What it can do |
Spam Watcher | Spam or irrelevant conversations | Tag conversations as spam |
Inbox Triage | Conversations that require a human response | Flag conversations for follow-up |
Ready-to-Buy | Contacts showing strong purchase intent | Save contacts as a segment |
How Agents work
Ask an Agent to scan your workspace.
Example: "Find chats that need follow-up."
Review the results presented by the Agent.
Approve the suggested action.
The Agent performs the approved action, such as applying tags or creating a contact segment.
Example workflows
You can combine Ask and Agents to investigate your workspace and organize the results.
Review today's activity and organize your inbox
Ask: "Give me a digest of today's activity."
Ask: "Show me the conversations from the digest that look urgent."
Ask the Inbox Triage Agent to find conversations that need follow-up.
Review the suggested conversations and approve the action.
Find high-intent sales leads
Ask the Ready-to-Buy Agent to find ready-to-buy leads from this week.
Review the suggested contacts.
Approve the action to save the contacts as a segment for your sales team.
Current limitations
The following capabilities are not currently available:
Scheduled or automatic reports. Digests are generated on demand.
Topic clustering across conversations.
Bulk message or campaign creation. Continue using the existing Campaigns workflow for this.
What's coming next
We're continuing to expand Ask and Agents with new capabilities, including:
More Agents for additional use cases
More actions beyond tagging and contact segmentation
Deeper analytics and trend detection
Your feedback helps shape future improvements. If there's a feature you'd like to see, please share your feedback with us.
Quick-start prompts
If you're not sure where to start, try one of these prompts:
"Show me today's inbox activity."
"Who messaged me recently?"
"Give me a digest of today."
"What was the busiest day this week?"
"How did my last campaign perform?"
"What templates do I have?"
"Show me everything about this contact."
"How do I block a contact?"
"Find chats that need follow-up."
"Find ready-to-buy leads from this week."
Because Agents require approval before they act, use Ask to investigate first and Agents to apply reviewed actions for a safer workflow.
