A. Business Manager account creation errors
These errors may occur while creating or selecting a Meta Business Manager account.
1. “An error occurred while processing this request. Please try again later.”
Cause: This is a general error that may occur if the business account creation fails for various reasons.
Solution:
Try again using an active Facebook account.
If the issue continues, contact Support for assistance.
2. “You have reached the limit for the number of Businesses you can create at this time.”
Cause: Meta limits the number of Business Manager accounts a single user can create.
Solution:
Use an existing Business Manager account, or
Delete or close unused business accounts before creating a new one.
3. “Your Facebook account is too new to create a business account. Try again in an hour.”
Cause: New Facebook accounts have temporary restrictions on creating Business Manager accounts.
Solution:
Wait a few hours before trying again, or
Use an existing active Facebook account.
4. “We limit how often you can post, comment, or do other things in a given amount of time to protect the community from spam.”
Cause: Your Facebook account may have been flagged due to unusual or suspicious activity.
Solution:
Use an active Facebook account with good standing and no prior restrictions.
5. “You're no longer allowed to use Facebook Products to advertise.”
Cause: Your Facebook account may have restrictions due to previous policy violations or suspicious activity.
Solution:
Use another active Facebook account without restrictions.
6. “Your payment account is disabled.”
Cause: The associated payment account has been disabled due to suspected activity or policy issues.
Solution:
Contact Meta Support to review and restore the payment account.
7. “A user can only create one business user at one time.”
Cause: Meta limits how frequently users can create Business Manager accounts.
Solution:
Use an existing Business Manager account to continue the setup.
8. “The name you chose for your business isn’t valid. Consider using a different name.”
Cause: The business name does not comply with Meta’s business naming policies.
Solution:
Update the business name so it follows Meta’s business naming guidelines.
9. "Business Manager cannot be selected."
Cause: This error typically occurs when the selected Meta Business Manager has been restricted, disabled, or is otherwise not eligible for WhatsApp onboarding.
Solution:
Create a new Business Manager to connect your number.
B. WhatsApp Business account creation errors
These errors may occur while creating or selecting a WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) during setup.
1. “User does not have permission to create WhatsApp Business Accounts.”
Cause: You do not have Admin access to the selected Business Manager account.
Solution:
Request Admin access, or
Select a Business Manager account where you already have Admin permissions.
2. “You can only create a limited number of WhatsApp Business Accounts before verification.”
Cause: Meta requires business verification before allowing additional WhatsApp Business Accounts to be created.
Solution:
Complete the Business Verification process in Meta Business Manager before creating more WhatsApp Business Accounts.
3. “We can't verify the Facebook Business Account that you selected.”
Cause: The selected Business Manager account does not meet WhatsApp Business API policies or verification requirements.
Solution:
Check the business verification status in Business Manager.
If verification was rejected, review the email notification from Meta.
Fix the issue and resubmit the verification request.
4. “Something has gone wrong. Please contact support.”
Cause: This may be a temporary system issue.
Solution:
Wait a few minutes and retry the setup process.
5. "Your WhatsApp Business Account is currently restricted, so this action cannot be completed. To proceed, select a different WhatsApp Business Account or visit the Meta Business Support Home to review and resolve the account restriction."
Cause: This error appears when the selected WhatsApp Business Account has been restricted or banned by Meta.
Solution:
Submit an appeal to Meta and request a review of the restricted or banned WhatsApp Business Account. Once Meta completes the review and removes the restriction, you can retry the embedded signup process.
Follow our guide to learn more about raising an appeal to Meta.
C. Phone setup errors
These errors may occur while adding your phone number to the WhatsApp Business Account.
1. “This phone number already exists in your list of phone numbers.”
Cause: The phone number is already registered in your WhatsApp Business Account.
Solution:
Restart the signup flow and select the existing phone number instead of creating a new one.
2. “This number is registered to an existing WhatsApp account.”
Cause: The phone number is already being used by:
WhatsApp Messenger
WhatsApp Business App
WhatsApp Business API
Solution:
Deregister the number from the existing WhatsApp account, or
Use a different phone number for the setup.
3. “Your verified name violates WhatsApp guidelines.”
Cause: The business display name does not follow WhatsApp’s display name guidelines.
Solution:
Update the business name to match WhatsApp’s display name policy.
4. “Something has gone wrong. Please contact support.”
Cause: The business profile details may be incomplete, incorrectly formatted, or not aligned with WhatsApp guidelines.
Solution:
Re-enter the business profile information and ensure all details follow WhatsApp’s requirements.
5. "Phone Number Limit Reached."
Cause: This error occurs when your Meta Business Account has reached the maximum number of WhatsApp phone numbers currently allowed under its account limits.
Solution:
Option 1: Remove an existing phone number
Follow the red warning message and click Go to WhatsApp Manager. Remove an existing phone number that is no longer in use, then try adding the new number again.
Option 2: Complete Business Verification
Complete Meta Business Verification to increase the phone number allocation available to your business. Once the verification process is approved, you may be eligible to add more WhatsApp phone numbers.
D. Phone verification errors
These errors may occur when verifying ownership of your phone number.
1. “Phone number ownership is already verified.”
Cause: The phone number has already been verified, but the system has not refreshed the status.
Solution:
Refresh the page to update the verification status.
2. “Your phone number doesn't appear to be valid.”
Cause: The number entered may be incorrect or unsupported.
Solution:
Ensure that:
The phone number is correct.
The number is active and supported by a valid telecom provider.
3. “You have guessed too many times.”
Cause: Too many incorrect verification code attempts were made.
Solution:
Wait 12 hours before attempting verification again.
4. “There was an error verifying this phone number.”
Cause: Verification may have failed due to network issues, system delays, or request timeouts.
Solution:
Retry the verification process after some time.
5. “You have requested your code too many times.”
Cause: Too many verification code requests were made in a short period.
Solution:
If you see an error saying you’ve requested the code too many times, try switching the verification methods - for example, if you were using SMS, try using the call option, or vice versa. Alternatively, you can also wait 12–24 hours before trying again.
If your number is connected to an IVR, temporarily disable the IVR and choose verification via call so the verification call can reach the number directly.
Tip: If you continue to experience issues during the Embedded Signup process, contact Wati Support with the error message and screenshots so the team can assist you more quickly.
