Before you begin
Before connecting Instagram to Wati, make sure you have:
An Instagram Professional Account
Admin access to the Instagram Professional Account you want to connect
Important: Wati requires an Instagram Professional Account. Personal Instagram accounts cannot be connected to Wati.
Instagram Professional Accounts include 2 account types:
Business Account
Creator Account
Both Business and Creator accounts are Professional Accounts and can be connected to Wati.
Check or convert your Instagram account
If you currently use a Personal Instagram Account, convert it to a Professional Account before connecting it to Wati.
To convert your account:
Open the Instagram app.
Go to your profile.
Tap the menu icon (☰) in the top-right corner.
Select Settings and Privacy.
Tap Account type and tools.
Select Switch to professional account.
Follow the prompts and choose either a Business or Creator account.
Complete the setup process.

Connect your Instagram account
Step 1: Open the Instagram channel settings
Log in to your Wati account.
Go to Settings > Channels > Instagram.
Click Get Started.
Step 2: Confirm the prerequisites
Review the prerequisites shown on the screen and confirm that you have:
An Instagram Professional Account
Admin access to the Instagram Professional Account
Select the required checkboxes and click Connect Instagram.
Step 3: Sign in to Instagram
After you click Connect Instagram, you will be redirected to the Instagram login page.
Sign in to the Instagram account you want to connect to Wati.
If 2-factor authentication (2FA) is enabled on your Instagram account, enter your authentication code when prompted.
Step 4: Grant permissions
Review the permissions requested by Wati.
Click Allow to grant the required access and continue.
Verify that Instagram is connected
After the connection is successful, Wati will display a confirmation message.
Your Instagram account is now connected to Wati, and you can manage your Instagram DMs through the Wati Team Inbox.
